France's lower house approved a 5.5-cent-per-gigabyte tax on content providers, including Netflix and Google. The tax, which was passed despite government opposition, could increase the cost of downloading large files. For example, a 210GB download, such as popular video games, would cost an additional €11.55. The vote was 11-10.
